Three-dimensional, time-dependent radiation-magneto-hydrodynamical simulations constitute a rapidly evolving branch in the field of modelling cool stellar atmospheres. This Joint Discussions - proposed by Commission 36 (Theory of Stellar Atmospheres) - is intended to bring together observers and theoreticians to discuss the perspectives for applications and future developments of 3D stellar atmospheres.
